Key Responsibilities
- Oversee asbestos laboratory testing including fibre counting and identification of asbestos in bulk samples.
- Develop and manage operational procedures and ensure thorough documentation for testing protocols.
- Manage accreditation requirements and maintain compliance with recognised national standards.
- Lead recruitment, coordinate workloads, and develop the laboratory team.
- Contribute to the expansion and introduction of new laboratory processes and technologies relevant to the environmental sector.
- Work closely with environmental service teams to provide technical asbestos analysis expertise.
- Implement quality assurance practices to uphold high testing standards and accreditation.

Candidate Requirements
- Extensive experience managing asbestos laboratory operations with compliance to national testing standards.
- Experience working in or supporting a NATA-accredited asbestos laboratory environment is essential
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 is essential.
- Proven leadership in team management, including staff development.
- In-depth understanding of asbestos fibre quantification and bulk identification techniques.
- Legal right to work in Australia.
