Your new company
A well-regarded national notforprofit organisation is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable and Payroll Officer to join its finance team on a 6month fixed-term contract. This organisation plays an important role in supporting industry and community outcomes and is known for its professional, collaborative and values-driven culture.

Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting both the accounts receivable and payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing across key financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing end-to-end accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, receipting, credit notes and reconciliations.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external billing enquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Maintaining customer records and reviewing aged debtors to support effective collections.
  • Preparing month-end journals, reports and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting payroll processing, including calculating adjustments, reconciling payroll data and ensuring compliance with legislation and awards.
  • Assisting with audits, compliance reporting and maintaining strong financial controls.
  • Contributing to process improvements, system enhancements and workflow optimisation.

    This is a varied and hands-on role offering exposure to both finance and payroll operations within a busy, professional environment.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable and payroll functions within a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong understanding of invoicing, receipting, reconciliations and debtor management processes.
  • Experience processing payroll and applying relevant legislation, awards and entitlements.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP and payroll systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and contribute to process improvements.

    Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
