An exciting opportunity exists for an APS6 Senior Advisor People & Performance to join a high-performing People Services team supporting a nationally significant organisation.In this role, you will partner closely with leaders and employees to provide expert advice across a broad range of people matters, including employee relations, performance management, misconduct, workplace conflict, investigations, and workforce strategy initiatives.This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HR practitioner who enjoys balancing operational case management with strategic stakeholder partnering.
Your new role
- Provide specialist advice on employment legislation, industrial relations matters, policies, and enterprise agreement interpretation.
- Manage complex and sensitive employee relations matters including grievances, misconduct allegations, performance concerns, workplace conflict, and investigations.
- Conduct workplace enquiries, fact-finding activities, reviews, and prepare high-quality reports and recommendations.
- Support leaders with performance management, behavioural issues, and capability development.
- Deliver coaching, advice, and training to enhance leadership capability and workplace outcomes.
- Develop briefings, correspondence, review responses, and other executive-level documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across People Services systems, processes, and service delivery.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of APS legislation, employment frameworks, and HR best practice.
What you'll need to succeed
You are a pragmatic and solutions-focused HR professional with strong judgement and a calm, professional approach to sensitive workplace matters.You will bring:
- 3+ years' experience in a dedicated HR Advisory, Employee Relations, Workplace Relations, or People & Performance role.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations cases from end to end.
- Strong investigation, report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to analyse information, undertake fact-finding activities, and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities while building trusted relationships with stakeholders.
