My client is a well-established Australian business specialising in the onsite servicing and replacement of hydraulic and industrial hoses, fittings and associated products.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the hydraulics, mechanical fitting or fluid power industry. No previous hydraulic experience is required, with full training and on-the-job development provided.

About the Role

As an Apprentice Mobile Service Technician, you will work alongside experienced technicians and receive practical training across hydraulic hose assembly, fitting, installation, servicing and repairs.

You will eventually travel to customer sites throughout the local area, providing onsite service and support to a range of customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Learning to assemble and install hydraulic and industrial hoses and fittings
  • Using hand tools, measuring equipment and service machinery
  • Learning to identify and troubleshoot hose and fitting issues
  • Assisting with the operation and maintenance of the Mobile Service Unit
  • Completing service documentation and work orders
  • Developing strong customer service and communication skills
  • Following all workplace health and safety procedures
  • Working as part of a supportive team while developing your ability to work independently
  • Participating in overtime and an on-call roster as you progress in your training

You will ideally have:

  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, fluid power or a related trade
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach
  • A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools or a willingness to learn
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • A strong work ethic and reliable attitude
  • A commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A current manual Australian driver's licence or the ability to obtain one
  • Full working rights in Australia

Previous industry experience is not essential. We are primarily looking for someone who is mechanically minded, reliable and genuinely interested in learning a skilled trade.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a mechanical, automotive, workshop or trade environment
  • Completion of Year 12 or a relevant pre-apprenticeship course
  • Previous exposure to hydraulics, hose assemblies or fluid power
  • Certificate II or other relevant mechanical qualification
  • Basic experience with hand tools and workshop equipment

What's on Offer?

  • Apprentice wages with regular progression throughout your training
  • Full on-the-job training and mentoring
  • Opportunity to complete a relevant trade qualification
  • Hands-on experience across hydraulics, hose assembly and fluid power
  • Supportive team environment
  • Long-term career opportunities within a growing industry
