Position Overview
Maxi Care Plus Pty Ltd is seeking a compassionate, reliable and dedicated Aged or Disabled Carer to provide person-centred care and practical support to young people and individuals requiring assistance due to disability, ageing or other support needs.
The successful candidate will provide assistance with personal care, daily living activities, mobility, emotional wellbeing and community participation. The role requires patience, empathy and a strong commitment to respecting each client's dignity, privacy, rights, choices and independence while delivering safe and appropriate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, and use of mobility aids
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and encourage social interaction
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding where required
- Perform light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Support clients to attend appointments, community activities, and social programs
- Monitor and report changes in clients’ physical, emotional, or behavioural condition
- Follow individual care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals and supervisors
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and daily care documentation
- Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing of all clients
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum one year of relevant experience in aged care, disability support or a similar care role.
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Support or another relevant qualification.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC), where applicable.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, where applicable.
- Required COVID-19 vaccination and booster, where applicable.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Completion of relevant NDIS worker training, including Supporting Effective Communication and Worker Orientation Modules, where applicable.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds while maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality, dignity and privacy.
Preferred Requirements
- Previous experience in aged care, disability support, or community care
- Current National Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- COVID-19 and relevant vaccinations (if required by policy)
