About the Role
As a Personal Care Worker / Personal Care Assistant, you will provide practical daily support that helps participants live safely and independently. Working closely with participants, their families and allied health professionals, you will deliver individualised support with empathy, attentiveness and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, including showering, grooming, dressing, toileting and feeding.
- Support mobility, transfers and safe movement using appropriate aids and equipment.
- Assist with communication and transport as required.
- Contribute observations and feedback to care planning and reviews.
- Follow individual therapy, behaviour and support plans.
- Monitor and report changes in participants’ conditions, incidents and concerns.
- Assist with rehabilitation exercises and therapeutic activities delegated by allied health professionals.
- Assist with medication administration within your training and scope.
- Encourage community engagement, social participation and skill development.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certificate III or higher in Disability Support, Community Services or a related field, or at least three years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of one year of post-qualification experience in personal care or disability support.
- A valid National Police Check issued within the past 12 months.
- A current First Aid Certificate. If you do not hold one, training will be arranged during induction.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- A valid driver’s licence is preferred.
Applicants must be able to commute reliably to Adelaide CBD or relocate before commencing employment.
