Accounts Receivable Officer | Permanent Full-Time | South of the River

Hays is partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team where you will play a key role in supporting cash flow, managing customer accounts, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your new role
Reporting to the Credit Control Lead, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable activities and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining exceptional customer service standards. Responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing overdue accounts and conducting collections activities in line with company policies.
  • Monitoring aged debtors and escalating high-risk accounts where required.
  • Processing customer credit applications and monitoring approved credit limits.
  • Preparing and posting daily cash receipts and customer payment allocations.
  • Completing account reconciliations and investigating account discrepancies.
  • Maintaining accurate customer master data and debtor records.
  • Supporting monthly reporting on outstanding accounts and collections performance.
  • Collaborating with sales teams and internal stakeholders to resolve account queries and payment issues.
  • Assisting with audit requirements and continuous process improvements.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience within Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Collections, Debtors, or a similar finance role.
  • Strong account reconciliation and cash allocation experience.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience using ERP or accounting systems
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
