Aboriginal Community Educator – Correctional Pathways

Location: Port Adelaide, SA

Employment: Full-time or Part-time (0.8 FTE considered) | 12-month contract

Tauondi Aboriginal College is seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal Community Educator – Correctional Pathways to deliver culturally responsive learning and pathway programs for Aboriginal people within correctional and pre-release environments.

Working as part of Tauondi's Training and Support Team, you will coordinate and deliver the Living Skills and Pathway Program (LS&P), supporting participants to build confidence, strengthen communication and self-management skills, explore education and employment opportunities, and prepare for successful reintegration into the community.

About the Role

You will coordinate, develop and facilitate engaging non-accredited learning programs for Aboriginal participants within correctional settings.

Working closely with the Department for Correctional Services, Aboriginal Services Directorate and other stakeholders, you will support participants to build practical life skills and identify realistic pathways into education, training and employment.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Delivering culturally responsive Living Skills and Pathway Program sessions
2. Facilitating engaging group learning activities
3. Supporting participant confidence, motivation and self-management
4. Coordinating program schedules and operational delivery
5. Building positive relationships with participants and stakeholders
6. Supporting education, training and employment pathways
7. Maintaining participant records and preparing program reports
8. Contributing to program development and continuous improvement.

About You

You are passionate about supporting Aboriginal people to achieve positive life outcomes and have experience delivering education, community or pathway programs.

You will bring:

1. Experience delivering workshops, training or group learning activities
2. Experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
3. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
4. Experience coordinating programs or community services
5. The ability to engage people using strengths-based, culturally safe approaches
6. Excellent organisational and administrative skills
7. Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.

Essential Requirements

1. Certificate IV or higher in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Work or a related discipline
2. Current (or willingness to obtain) Working With Children Check
3. Current (or willingness to obtain) National Police Clearance
4. Current (or willingness to obtain) RRHAN-EC Certificate
5. Current Driver's Licence.
