Your new role
As a Funding Analysis Officer, you will assess large volumes of information, analyse complex data sets, and provide evidence-based recommendations to support funding decisions. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will identify trends, risks and anomalies while ensuring outcomes are accurate, consistent and aligned with established requirements. You will be responsible for analysing data, preparing reports, maintaining strong governance and quality assurance practices, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Your role also requires regular engagement with a broad range of stakeholders, requiring clear communication and the ability to explain complex information in a practical and accessible way. Your key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and analysing funding applications and supporting documentation
- Interpreting complex information and making evidence-based recommendations
- Identifying risks, trends, opportunities and areas for process improvement
- Preparing reports and analytical insights for decision-makers
- Conducting quality assurance activities and maintaining accurate records
- Managing high-volume workloads while delivering timely outcomes
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting compliance with policy, legislative and program requirements
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new role, you will demonstrate:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel capability, including Power Query, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, data manipulation, validation and cleansing
- Experience analysing large and complex data sets
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong reporting, quality assurance and governance experience
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment
- Sound judgement and a proven ability to make evidence-based decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management experience
- The ability to explain complex information clearly and influence positive outcomes
- A commitment to integrity, accountability and continuous improvement
To be considered for this role, you will need to be an Australian citizen and have a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
